Job Title: Fundraising Specialist


About MECHA

The Mercer County Hispanic Association (MECHA) is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering Hispanic and Latino communities in Mercer County through access to education, health services, immigration support, and community development. We are proud to serve as a cultural bridge and advocate for equity, inclusion, and opportunity.


Position Overview

MECHA is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Fundraising Specialist to lead and grow our fundraising efforts. This role is essential to sustaining and expanding our programs that directly impact the lives of families across Mercer County. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, relationship builder, and passionate advocate for our mission.


Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute annual fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals

Cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations

Plan and manage fundraising events, campaigns, and donor outreach initiatives

Research and apply for relevant grant opportunities

Maintain donor database and ensure accurate tracking of contributions and engagement

Collaborate with communications team to promote fundraising efforts across platforms

Prepare donor reports, thank-you letters, and impact updates

Monitor fundraising performance and provide regular updates to leadership


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or related field

Minimum 2 years of experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment

Commitment to MECHA’s mission and values


Preferred Skills

Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred

Experience with grant writing and reporting

Familiarity with digital fundraising tools and social media outreach

Event planning and community engagement experience
