What you will practice

• Understand what Form N-400 asks — we do not fill or file it.
• Walk through a full mock interview before your USCIS day.

1. 1

   Week 1

   Your path to citizenship

   What the naturalization process is, what this class covers, and what it does not. We look at Form N-400 together. MECHA does not file it. We are not attorneys.

2. 2

   Week 2

   U.S. history for the test

   Colonial times, independence, the Constitution, and the Civil War — the history questions from the 100 civics list, in plain English.

3. 3

   Week 3

   How the government works

   The three branches, Congress, the President, and your state and local leaders. You practice saying the answers out loud.

4. 4

   Week 4

   Rights, symbols, and geography

   The Bill of Rights, the flag, holidays, states, and rivers. More of the 100 questions, with English you can use in the interview.

5. 5

   Week 5

   Interview English

   Speaking clearly. Personal questions from the N-400: your name, travel, family, and work. Short answers a USCIS officer can understand.

6. 6

   Week 6

   Mock interview and review

   A full practice interview. We go through remaining civics questions and what to bring on your appointment day. You leave knowing the steps.

Why there is a fee

MECHA is a nonprofit classroom. The citizenship fee is the same on Zoom and in person: one community price. It pays the teacher for twelve hours, the civics practice, and the mock interview. We are not attorneys. We do not file Form N-400. You pay in the Lawrenceville office or after we send a card link — not on this page.

What the fee covers

• Twelve hours with a teacher (six weeks, two hours each week).
• Practice of the official 100 civics questions.
• Interview English and a mock interview.
• A plain-language walk through Form N-400. We do not file it.
• The same class on Zoom or in Lawrenceville.

How the fee is set

Read this before you enroll. The number is the full class, not one day. Pay later in the office or after a card link.
