Why there is a fee

MECHA is a nonprofit classroom, not a private school. Since 1985 we have taught neighbors in Mercer County. The fee pays the teacher for those sixteen hours, the practice pages, and the Zoom room or the classroom on Bakers Basin Road. It is a community price. We do not charge a card on this website. You pay in the Lawrenceville office or after we send a card link.

What the fee covers

  • Sixteen hours with a teacher (eight weeks, two hours each week).
  • A small beginner group — we go slowly and repeat.
  • Practice pages you can take home.
  • A Zoom link, or a seat in the Lawrenceville classroom.
  • Questions welcome in English or Spanish.

How the fee is set

Read this before you enroll. The number is the full class, not one day. Pay later in the office or after a card link.

Zoom, if you enroll before class starts

Early price

$149

About $9 for each hour of class

Eight weeks from home. Same teacher, same sixteen hours.

Signing up early lets us fill the group and prepare. We pass that savings to you: $30 less than regular Zoom.

Zoom

$179

About $11 for each hour of class

Eight weeks from home on a phone, tablet, or computer.

Zoom does not use the Lawrenceville room, so it costs less than coming in person. You still get the full sixteen hours.

In the Lawrenceville classroom

$219

About $14 for each hour of class

Eight weeks at 231 Bakers Basin Road, Unit 5.

The extra covers the classroom — rent, heat, chairs, and printed pages — so we can sit together in Lawrenceville.
